Only In America

This past weekend I went on a church ski trip to Asheville. As we were making our way north, we stopped in Greenville, South Carolina at the mall. It was at this mall that I saw the subject of this blog. She was probably in her mid thirties and weighed a good three hundred pounds. You might be thinking, “oh well maybe she was walking around trying to get some exercise”, wrong. She was plopped down on her high powered scooter dodging kids as she made her way through the food court. Even though I see this type of thing all the time, I was awestruck. I can just imagine what a foreigner would be thinking if they came across this woman. They would probably be snapping pictures left and right trying to figure out what in the world is wrong with America.

Your right Barny, that is kind of pathetic, but have you thought of what that woman was thinking? Maybe she can't help it. Maybe you should think of others' feelings before you blog about them.

What if that woman has a thyroid problem which causes her to gain weight severely? What if the woman is too heavy to walk and it puts too much pressure on her joints, and the power chair is a temporary remedy for a sprained ankle? Have you thought about that, Barny? How about you check yourself before you wreck yourself fool. As a wise wise man once said, "He who casts the first stone must be free from sin."

I am glad you are so interested in my blog, Tommy. Even though you are obviously confused about the topic of this post, thank you for commenting. My intention for this post was not to poke fun at this woman, but to simply take a look into what foreigners would think of such a sight. I do not think you would argue that they would have the same reaction exemplified in this post. Feel free to continue to be so interested in this blog, but please refrain from ignorant comments.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.
